The Relationship Between Food And Skin Health - Articles Surfing

Want truly fabulous skin -- glowing, vibrant, and, yes, younger-looking skin? Make sure you're putting foods for healthy skin on your plate.

No matter how many beauty supply and skin care product you buy, if you don't eat a healthy diet, you won't look as good as you could with healthy skin. As junk food goes in your body, your body forms itself from the junk food. Do you want your skin health to reflect junk food? If you will eat a healthy diet, including such foods as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts, your skin will maintain its youthful look when others your age are starting to show their age.

Studies are finally catching up to what dermatologists and vegetarians have been telling us for years. That is, the more years you spend eating healthy foods, the slower you and your skin will age. The more years you spend eating junk foods and drinking alcoholic beverages, the more accelerated your aging process will be.

Even before the days of science, your great grandparents were likely telling their children not to miss any meals, especially breakfast. The more science catches up to our ancestors wisdom in this area, the more we see that lifestyle diseases such as diabetes can result when we intake unhealthy foods at irregular times in irregular quantities.

Another advice of our ancestors was to drink water regularly. Although our ancestors may not have correctly understood the effects of water, this has proven a healthy habit for overall health and skin health. Your body cannot function at ultimate health and make quick repairs to itself unless you are properly hydrated. While the exact amount you should drink each day varies, no one disputes the role good hydration plays in keeping skin looking healthy and even young. When that hydration comes from pure, clean water -- not liquids such as soda or even soup -- experts say skin cells rejoice. While any good, clean water will keep your body and your skin hydrated, Lipski says hard water, the kind high in minerals, is especially good. Using water softeners to de-mineralize drinking water may reduce some of the potentially helpful effects. In addition to keeping cells hydrated, water helps cells move nutrients in and toxins out, which Lipski says automatically leaves skin looking better.

Just as fatty animal foods can destroy your skin health, polyunsaturated and mono unsaturated fats found in such foods as walnuts and avocados are essential for great skin health. If you have had an inconsistent diet or been on antibiotics, you could also receive a skin health benefit with an injection of bacteria from yogurt.
There are so many foods that can be classified as skin care foods; there are fiber rich foods which help you with digestion and removal of toxins from the body. It has been scientifically proven; people who eat fiber rich food are healthier than those who eat junk food.

You can start by combining a plate of salads in your daily food, your salad can contain cabbage, onions, tomatoes, olives, radishes, lemon, coriander, etc., the list is endless. Making a good dish of salad or eating these in their complete form anything is alright if you enjoy it. In many cultures around the world, especially among vegetarians, eating salads raw or after combination of different salads is quite common. Your skin care regimen should also include eating freshly cooked food, avoiding eating red meat regularly, instead try and use more of pulses and legumes, these provide as much nutrition and also contain the healthy fiber.

You can also switch to eating brown bread which is rich in fiber rather than eating the normal bread, which is made of refined flour which has negligible fiber content. Skin care demands that the food has fiber, so that the bowels are cleaned better and the toxins are flushed out regularly.

If you care for your skin and want to look younger for longer, skin care should include health food.
