Article Surfing ArchiveTop Tips to Win at Roulette - Articles SurfingLearning to play roulette elevates you into a privileged class of casino gambler. Many years ago roulette was immensely popular in the United States but this popularity has recently waned significantly. Nevertheless it is still one of the most popular casino games in Europe, still drawing very large crowds. When you learn how to play roulette, the very first thing that you will notice is the difference between the sets of wheels. The United States version has an added slot, the 00 slot but this kind of slot is not seen on the French wheel, which happens to be the main type of wheel used across Europe as well. The European wheel consists of thirty-six numbers with an added single zero slot whereas the American wheel has identical thirty-six number slots but also has two additional slots, the zero and double-zero. The upshot of this is that the American wheels are more difficult to win on rather than the French version. This could be one of the reasons that roulette is on the decline in the United States. For those who want to learn the game and are wondering if there are any French wheels in use in the United States, then the simple answer is yes. These wheels are normally found at the higher limit rooms though with them requiring higher minimum bets than the American tables. When playing roulette you should always try and look for a table that has just one '0' i.e. a European table. An American table has an increased house edge percentage meaning you are more likely to lose your money on this kind of table. A basic rule of mastering roulette is to learn the table. The dealer stands at one end of the table and this is where the wheel is located. There are printed boxes on the table numbered one to 36 and which are arranged into three columns and twelve rows. There are also boxes for the 0 and 00 which have green backgrounds. The one to 36 boxes are bordered by either a black or red rectangles or ovals and are called the inside bets. Consequently the outside of the numbered boxes are known as the outside bets. As soon as you have acquired some chips, you put the amount you would like to wager on one of the boxes or spaces that you think will be lucky and you can keep placing bets right up until the dealer shouts 'No more bets'. The ball is then dropped into a wheel slot and the dealer will place a marker on top of the winning box while clearing away all of the other chips. The process is repeated for a new round of wagering. Some people like to learn more about playing roulette by going online and joining one of the hundreds of casino sites that are available there. These sites also let you research winning strategies so you can start to play like a professional. At the end of the day, the more you manage to learn about the game of roulette, the more accomplished a player you will become.
