Backpacking Tips

On any backpacking trips there are always the essentials that one must always carry to have a fun and safe adventure. Read on to see the full list of needed items!

1. Maps and Compasses
You need maps to help navigate your way through the wilderness, and can be very helpful when lost. When used with a compass a map can keep from being lost, even in the most wilderness places. 2. Food
Food is always needed on any trip. Make sure the food is healthy and will keep your energy up throughout the hike.

3. Sleeping Bag / Tent
Make sure you pack a sleeping bag and tent that are suitable for the weather, you will definitely need a place to sleep and rest.

4. Clothing
Make sure you pakc appropriate clothing according to the trip.

5. First-Aid Kit
Always need a first-aid kit to heal yourself if you receive an injury.

6. Water Bottles / Water Filter
Anywhere you go hiking, you should make sure that you are always near a water source, because water is the most important thing on any trip. Always have a few water bottles so you can store water and so you are not always stopping to filter more water. Also need a water filter to clean river, lake, or whatever water you use to drink. You should never drink the water straight from the water source, because you could get very sick and this would cause a major problem if you are in the middle or nowhere.

7. Pocket Knife
Always need a pocket knife, they can perfom many tasks, from cutting up your dinner to widdling a nice spear.

8. Hiking Boots
Comfortable, sturdy boots are an essential to any hiking trip.

9. Hat / Sunglasses
Hats and sunglasses or goggles help protect your head and face.

10. Backpack
Lastly you will always need your handy-dandy backpack. Hopefully this is self-explainatory.
