Dog training benefits everyone whether you just got yourself a new dog or you already ave an older dog at home. Not only that your dog will be very much behaved, dog training will also help tighten the bond better. You will also have the benefit of having a calmer dog who can be controlled easily that all your family and friend will not be hesitant to visit you and your dog. To have a really good dog training process, one must understand the behavior of the dog and why the dog is behaving the way. Dogs are only concerned on two things in their life, these are food and play. Dogs">All dogs regardless of breed are pack animals and they are usually domesticated animals which are similar to wolves. They consider their owners and all the people inside the house as a member of their pack. Dogs do not usually like the idea of being the leader of the pack, however, just like the life in the wild, if there will be no one who is brave enough to step up, they will most like to feel obligated to act as the leader. For you to be able to have a successful dog training, you should assume the obligation of being the leader of the pack, you must be able to outrank your dog. Dogs are always looking for someone who can protect them and guide them, which would definitely be you. You must be very firm and consistent with your dog. However, if you feel that you are not a good leader, still you can become the leader of the pack. Things such as feeding her after you are done eating, and letting him wait to exit the door after you will help assume the role. Do not be hesitant to pull the rank on your pet occasionally. If he is so much comfortable taking one particular side of the couch, make him move towards the other side of the couch and take the place where she previously seated. If she tends to hog your bed's cover, roll him off. It may somehow appear a little mean but this will help establish a chain of command which is very vital. Do not hit or abuse your dog each time she did not do well in the training. This will not help her at all but rather it will just make the situation worse. Your dog will easily sense that you are frustrated and she will loose confidence about herself. She will become nervous each time your train her which most likely to lead into distraction. Besides, it is barely illegal to strike a dog. Consistency is the key factor to any kind of dog training program. Keeping your focus on the training and not deviating from the task will help you teach your dog better. Just like anything in life, practice always makes perfect.
