Article Surfing ArchiveI Want To Have A Place To Go For Christmas Dinner Next Year.. - Articles SurfingThat's the question Lilly posed: "I'm going to visit my family this Christmas, and they all know I'm in this business. How can I talk to them about these life-changing products and get them to LISTEN to me? And - still have a place to go for Christmas dinner next year?" Two things: 1. Do not lecture them how great the company or product is or use lots of impressive (to you) scientific technobabble no one cares about. Remember, you are selling it, everyone knows it, so EVERYTHING you say is suspect. Just like the words of any sales person are somewhat suspect. They have an agenda, remember? 2. Instead of selling and pushing, tell your story and ask only for referrals.. E.g., GRAMPS: "So, Lilly, what's new with you?" YOU: "Hey Gramps! Let me tell you what's new with me...Our company's introduced a product for people who have achy knees and joints like I used to, and who don't like drugs. Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?" Then, LET GO. Make the rounds, tell your story in words a 13-year old can understand, and ask one question over and over: "Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?" Then let go. Chances are excellent that you'll have a place to come for Christmas dinner next year. And perhaps a referral or two. Remember what Jesus told his disciples when people were not responsive... P.S. Here's a way to add the business builder part: "Do you know anyone who might like to know about a product like that?...Or who might like to help us find more customers?" Friendly scripts plus ways to customize them for your own situation are laid out in the If My Product's So Great, How Come I Can't Sell It? book and CD program here at my Banana Marketing Store:
