Here are some tips to help you. Go for a serene look. If you are looking for something that has lots of color and lots of design features, this is not what Japanese design will provide for you. In fact, it is just the opposite. Japanese design is that of simplistic design. The goal is to have a room or home that is filled not with lots of stuff but rather just the right looking things. These are simple items. Natural light is a big factor in good Japanese design details. Opening up windows and allowing sunlight to stream in is very important for a beautiful room in this design. You will want to use soft curtains with light colors to allow this to happen. Having a lot of windows and airways will help to create the Japanese feel as well. The details are minimal. You will want the room to work by not having a lot of things in it. You do not want to see any clutter, that is for sure. In Japanese design, you want to concentrate on simplistic looks. A table should feature a simple design to it and have very few decorative elements about it or on it. Don't clutter the hard wood floors with area rugs. Leave it open and simple looking. Keep the furniture low to the ground. Finally, the lines in the Japanese design make it what it is. You want lots of horizontal lines in the furniture, the walls and the other elements that you include. Use only natural products of wood and stone. Adding these Japanese decorating details to your home will transform it almost right away in a simple looking, beautiful design.
