There are a number of different pieces of bathroom furniture that can be added to the space, each of which is available in a wide variety of styles and colors. Cabinetry is among the most important type of bathroom furniture to select for the bathroom. Not only does cabinetry serve to personalize a bathroom, it also has an important function because it serves to store items used in the bathroom. As such, care must be taken to first select cabinetry that will provide enough space to store the items that will be needed in the room. In addition, the cabinetry must not be too large to fit within the area available. Obviously, a bathroom may contain more than one cabinet. Each of these cabinets may also serve a different purpose. For example, a linen cabinet may be tall and thin and be used primarily for storage of bathroom towels and of hygiene products. Similarly, a thin wall cabinet containing a mirror on the outside of its door may be used to store smaller items that are commonly used along with a mirror, such as electric razors, brushes, and hair styling products. After determining the proper size of the cabinetry to be placed in the room, the style must next be considered. Some homeowners prefer cabinetry with plenty of lighting, which can be helpful when putting on make-up, shaving, or styling hair. In addition, these lights can be quite attractive and can come in a number of different shapes, sizes, and patterns. In addition to aesthetics, functionality of the bathroom furniture must be considered as well. For example, drawers may be a better choice for storing certain items than cabinets. Similarly, some items may be better stored in smaller drawers where they will not be misplaced. In some cases, it is necessary to utilize special inserts to help divide the drawers and cabinets of the bathroom furniture into smaller sections that are better suited for these purposes.
