How Your Motoring Habits Can Get You Cheaper Car Insurance - Articles Surfing

Cheaper car insurance is a quest on which many motorists find themselves every year, and many have failed to find a measure of success in years gone by. However, car insurance is not black and white today. Instead, there are many options, questions and hints and tips that you can tap into to lead you directly to cheaper car insurance. Most of them actually refer to personal use of your car and your driving habits and so those factors are nothing new for you, except for the fact that car insurance companies now take them into account in order to give you cheaper car insurance options!

Cheaper car insurance as a result of personal driving habits is a revolutionary and innovative concept that has opened up the world of insurance to motorists that would otherwise be paying over the odds for their compulsory protection against accidents, theft and vandalism. It is amazing just how much cheaper car insurance can actually save you in terms of your yearly premium when the following is taken into account:

Yearly mileage ' The majority of companies now ask for an approximate yearly mileage when quoting you for car insurance because the fewer miles you use every year, the cheaper car insurance actually is for you. The significance of this is that the fewer miles you actually do, the less time you spend on the road and you also tend to stay closer to home. The former reduces the chance of you actually having an accident, as does the second to some extent. However, the second also taps into the notion that if you stay closer to home then the less likely you are to become a victim of car crime because in theory, you now where to park to avoid crime as far as possible. This all adds up to cheaper car insurance as a result of fewer claims.

Weekly usage ' This is also used to assess how likely you are to have an accident because your premiums are in effect designed only to pay for the time you spend on the road. For example, if you use your car on three days a week on average then you pay less than someone that uses his or her car every day. However, not all insurers actually offer this. Those that do offer this form of cheaper car insurance are actually in the minority. If you do use your car three days a week or less, you should ask if insurers actually offer cheaper car insurance to suit this type of need.

No claims period ' Finally, a no claims period or bonus is another way of getting cheaper car insurance. The majority of companies award no claims periods with cheaper car insurance, and some even give discounts that are in line with how long it has been since you made a claim. It may be that you have six years no claims, for example. Some companies would only give you a standard discount for this, but others will give you a greater discount than someone with four or five years no claims receives. It all adds up to cheaper car insurance, especially if you can combine this with a lower mileage or three days in terms of weekly usage!

All of the factors above would take time and effort to compile in order to find cheaper car insurance. However, there is an Internet search and compare insurance site that can help you to locate the best deals depending on which bands you fit into. All you have to do is tap in your details and wait for the deals to arrive at your convenience!
