Your area of study ' If you're looking for a college, you probably have a study in mind. What are you going to school for? Did you get good grades in school? The good grade part will matter because some colleges that specialize in your field of study may not accept you if you didn't get a good enough GPA. You're going to want to look at your field and see what colleges are recommended for your area or learning. The City Size ' Are you going to stay on campus or are you going to commute. If you're searching for a college for the first time and you're going to stay away from home, you'll probably want to explore the city before you actually sign the papers. You may find that the city is in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. While this might good because you can get a lot of studying done, studying isn't done 24/7 and there's always room for entertainment. Make sure that you find a college in a great city that has lots of things to do.

Size of the college ' The size of the college is a huge factor when it comes to applying. This is usually important because this will most likely determine your class size. Do you want to go to a school with three hundred students per classroom or do you want a class with twenty or so students where you can interact with the teacher more? Just because the college is small doesn't mean that you're going to get a bad education.

Check out the reviews ' Just like anything you buy in life, you'll want to know what you're buying before you get it. The same goes with a college, you won't want to just apply without hearing reviews about the school. A nice place to check for college reviews are either online or ask around friends or relatives. You can usually get a good idea on what the school is about just by reading some reviews. You may find that some schools have a bad reputation which leads to a harder time finding a job in the future.

There are so many other factors to consider such as pricing, location, and many other factors.
